Soil is considered a three phase system involving water, Air and Solids. This abstraction is used by many of the Geo-Technologists and suitable relationships are derived by applying this model. The soil is tested usually in Laboratories as an in-situ analysis is rarely feasible. The main aim of this document is the illustration of an in-situ analysis using some of the basic concepts of analog electronics and subsequent digitization enables continuous monitoring of soil. The parameters that can be determined here are moisture content, permeability and porosity.
