As mentioned earlier, a through and brief study will be done over the behavioral changes of the bitumen when blended with plastic at different concentrations with respect to weight.
Bitumen samples will be blended with plastic at a starting concentration of 4% and increasing at a rate of 4% per each sample. Waste plastic is collected and it is thoroughly mixed with hot bitumen at a temperature of 50 Degree Celsius.
These Bitumen samples are then tested by softening point test and penetration test. Pavement samples made from these bitumen samples are tested by Marshall Test. The change in properties of bitumen and pavement samples with the change in plastic concentration is studied.
Ultimately, a better blend of Bitumen and Plastic with better properties will be proposed.
