    MULTI CRITERIA DECISION MAKING IN FUZZY ENVIRONMENT IN WATER RESOURCE PLANNING

    It is necessary to consider the technical, environmental, and social implications of water resource projects, in addition to the economic criteria to ensure sustainable decisions and favorable decision outcomes. This also requires engaging stakeholders at every stage of group decision making (GDM) and multi criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques. This project aims to use a new group decision support system (GDSS), group fuzzy decision making (GFDM), to solve these two models simultaneously. The important advantages of such GDSSs for water resource management are as follows:
    1 To cope with limited water, financial and human resources.
    2 To allow for MCDM instead of SCDM
    3 To avoid opportunity costs of delay in decision making
    4 To resolve conflicts among stakeholders
    5 To simplify administration of projects
