The idea comprises of a completely new methodology of constructing arch bridges using Concrete Filled Plastic Tubes (CFPT) as concrete can be cheaply made and is widely available in India. The design comprises of a carefully laid out arch of calculated parabolic parameters. The concrete arch is wholly covered in a PVC Pipe of 2.5’’ giving it a definite shape and desired pre-stressing. It can safely and effectively replace steel which is being used in the current designs making it more cost uneconomical.
